What in the World is Blogging?

I’ve been blogging now for a little less than a year. When I try to explain blogging to my clients, family members and friends, their eyes usually glaze over. I have to admit that mine probably did as well just a couple of years ago. So, what in the world is blogging?

Commoncraft has come up with a fabulous video that puts the concept of blogging into plain English. Their video productions are a definite must see. Check it out.

Special thanks to Jim Duncan who featured this video on his Real Central VA blog, one of my favorite reads.

Enjoy!

Great post Jennifer. I find myself trying to explain or even justify the reasoning behind the power of the blog. I may use this video to help with that task!

Chris- Thanks. It is tough to explain. I think the book, The Long Tail, may have told it best, but that took pages and pages. This video is clear and concise. I plan on using it too! How are things in Pagosa Springs, a wonderful Colorado town?

Jennifer, great post. My wife and many of my friends don’t get it. I will have to share this with them so they can “get it”…. I hope

    Jennifer,
great post. I love this video. I too have problems with friends and family looking at me like I have three heads when I talk about blogging….

Jennifer, the video was entertaining and was a thorough explanation for anyone wanting to know what a blog is…now all you have to do is point your clients, family members and friends to your video. I bet soon everyone will know and they won’t need a video.

    Happy blogging!

Stephen- I’m sure it creates issues when even your wife doesn’t understand. I’m going to share this with my friends and family too.

Brian- Three heads and a little nuts. Young people understand. We just need to educate people our age.

Gena- Once we give them the information, I can imagine more blogs popping up and that is what it is all about.
